Sketchy on the Detail

Draw a little every day

Y2D273 and check lists

So I achieved a couple of things off the “move to Adelaide” list, though I still haven’t sorted the accommodation. I have about five properties to see, so hopefully one will be suitable and I get it.

This line drawing means absolutely nothing other than I haven’t done one for a while and I felt like a change. In case you were wondering.

Y2D238 and running amok

I was playing around with negative space last night, and with my ink water pens. The red and purple are fine, but the black is a little too free and tends to run a lot…all over the place…especially where I don’t want it to go. Oops.

Y2D232 and TV upgrade

The internet and T-Box has been put in the house now so I can get back to TV sketching again.

Y2D186 and late nights

Oops, didn’t make time during the day so it’s back to Pinterest to practice more simplifying photos to line drawings just before going to sleep.

Y2D185 and not cats

See, I am capable of non-feline sketches. Capable of straight lines is another issue altogether. Still, there is nothing like a stairway for practice and the dark wood/light walls help somewhat.

I think this means I am finally up-to-date. Whether it stays that way remains to be seen.

Y2D180 and more kitties

I spent this morning sketching the cats playing, snoozing and generally being cute. Here is Cap’n Jack snuggled up in the corner of their favourite chair.

I’m taking full advantage of being in a house full of felines.

Y2D161 and sinister, of sorts

Just a little portrait practice, thanks to Netflix and Grimm…

Y2D155 and speedy TV

Just practising with some quick sketches while watching TV. Though it is frustrating having to wait for all those long close-ups to finish, so I can get the full length body poses….

Y2D111 and basics

Mostly practicing today, getting back to basics to ensure proportions are correct. Always handy to have good foundations.

Y2D70 and more practice

What to draw today? Mostly practicing male portraits with TV drawing but still failing (in my eyes) dismally.
