Sketchy on the Detail

Draw a little every day

Y2D265 and eek! Squeak!

I thought I had left the mice behind in England, but no! The cold, windy weather has brought them inside and we have seen our first for the winter. Peppi, naturally, slept through all the commotion, so I’m thinking of swapping him for a lively kitten.

Y2D192 and scampering

We went out for cocktails and dinner, so by the time we walked home the cats were most insistent on second dinner. That also means there is much scampering after second dinner as the sudden calorie intake goes to their head. That wears off pretty quick when they realise there are three laps to be had.

Y2D190 and post-captain

Tuesday was all about the build up to see Captain America: The Winter Soldier at the cinema. I think we did remarkably well in delaying our gratification and it was worth the wait. Of course I didn’t make the best use of time by sketching while I waited to go to the movies, so we’ve a hurried drawing of Juno settling down on my lap as we watched Agents of Shield once we arrived home after the film.

Anyway, only two more potential cat sketching days left on this trip and then I’m going up to the cold for some train fun.

Y2D189 and quotation cats

Cap’n Jack and Juno were creating secret messages using punctuation while asleep today. So far they have written ” () !) “. We may need an enigma machine to help with deciphering the code…

Y2D184 and flopping

Today was more of a sorting day than a drawing day, though every time I intended to go sketching, Juno decided it was time to flop on my lap. So I drew her….again.

Don’t worry folks, only seven more days of potential cat sketches and then I will not have such willing models.

Y2D183 and afternoon delights

I fully intended to post a drawing from Milligan College, where we went for the Leaders in Christian Service convocation, as my friend’s husband was one of the those being honoured. With all best laid plans, now you have another pikkie of kitties. They were so cute in the afternoon sunshine by the door, and Cap’n Jack was especially good at modelling today.

Y2D181 and not finished yet

Here’s another sketch of Juno, sleeping her Sunday away. We had lazy-ish day today, but only a little drawing completed by me. Perhaps a little too lazy? Anyway, we are by no means done with the kitties yet.

And I miss my scanner. The colours come out all wrong on my camera phone. 😦

Y2D180 and more kitties

I spent this morning sketching the cats playing, snoozing and generally being cute. Here is Cap’n Jack snuggled up in the corner of their favourite chair.

I’m taking full advantage of being in a house full of felines.

Y2D177 and kitties

Made it to the USA, and my friend very kindly completed the trek to collect me from Charlotte. So tonight (ie Wednesday and not Friday as I am writing this), I spent time sketching all the kitties in the house. This is Juno taking a nap on her mum’s arm rest.

Y2D146 and evil kitty

Just lots of random playing with inky pen brushes today. Kitty is looking rather mean. I was going for cute.
