Y2D173 and getting on
by Sketchy on the Detail
You know you’re getting on in years when after three cocktails you think “that’s it, time for bed”. I had a very full day, a morning sketching at the Pinacoteca di Brera followed by lunch at Al Cantinone and then a whistle stop afternoon tour of Milan – Teatro alla Scala, the Duomo, Galleria Vittorio Emmuelle II, Castello Szofesco and Leonardo da Vinci’s Last Supper. Then I went out for “apperitivo” with my young cousin. Three drinks later and I am definitely ready for bed, whilst she is just primed for going out. Ahh, the joys of youth. I’ll leave you with a detail from Girolamo Genga’s fascinating ” The Disputation over the Immaculate Conception”. Who doesn’t love cherubin reading music?
