Y2D123 and New Year Take 2

恭喜发财 Gōng xǐ fā cái and “Congratulations and be prosperous”. I’m hoping the internet will translate the Chinese characters correctly and do in fact wish people a Happy Chinese New Year (and not something incredibly rude). In honour of the year of the Horse, may this little one bring you prosperity, health and happiness.

Y2D122 and quickly now

Today was playing around with quick sketches whilst the tv was on.

Y2D121 and here comes the rain

Quite frankly, it’s never really left. But does allow for me to mine pinterest for inspiration.

Y2D120 and soft kitty

Been particularly poorly today, so I holed up in bed in the hope that sleep will help. I won’t gross you out with the grisly details. Unfortunately no Sheldon appeared to run me a hot bath, rub Vicks on my chest and sing Soft Kitty, but hopefully I have managed to kick the worst of it and can go back to civilisation tomorrow.

This is obviously not me, but gives you the idea. If I was going to have an out of body experience, I can think of a few better bedrooms to spend it in than my own…

Y2D119 and foxy

I suppose it’s time to turn my attention to the local wildlife. Especially since I saw one outside my front door this morning.

Y2D118 and fruity

More playing with ink in my Pentel water brushes. I like the Pentel ones better than the Derwent, as the ink seems to flow better. On top of that, these brushes make my extensive ink collection portable. Not that I am going anywhere at the moment with this awful dog bark of mine.

Y2D117 and lady of leisure

Who wouldn’t like to be a lady of leisure, lying all day in the sun by sparkling water. That would be fine for the first hour, then I would be completely burnt and have to seek shelter in a gallery or museum and regrow several layers of epidermis. Besides I get bored far to easily and need something to occupy my mind…and hands.

Y2D116 and three little pigs

More farmyard cuties…wonder what mischief these three are up to?

Y2D115 and nearly spring

Surely it must be lambing time, it’s been spring-ish since last autumn. So here is a perky little friend, just to get things going.

Y2D114 and style

I have been wondering for the past 15 months or so if I have “voice” or style when it comes to my drawings. My friend seems to think this is it but I’m not so sure. Besides, as this is not waterproof ink, it would be pretty rubbish for a final piece to fade after a couple of years, wouldn’t it? I kinda want my artwork to be more permanent than that.
