Day 160 and view points
by Sketchy on the Detail
A mini challenge today, attempting to draw on all forms of public transport…I managed three: train, bus and DLR. Too embarrassed to draw on the tube as usual, and no chance of catching a ferry. I tried to do vistas today, rather than faces or body parts. Something a little different from the norm.
It’s rather tricky drawing on transport. I’ve tried drawing on international flights – very frustrating. Once I drew on the Kangaroo Island ferry – another degree of difficulty added by the pitching and rolling.
I like this drawing because you’ve paid as much attention to the surrounds as the figure – it connects the whole thing to the edge of the page and makes the drawing stronger. 🙂
Thanks Sally, I tried to have a bit of reference in yesterday’s sketches, as it is too easy for me to concentrate on the people rather than their environs. Not tried a ferry, just on the Cats that go along the Thames but they don’t pitch very much.;-)
I would love to go to Kangaroo Island, my parents honeymooned there but I have never been. Would love to see your drawings from there.
Hi “Sketchy” – if you go to the archives on http://sallyparnisdrawings.wordpress.com and find January and look at Jan 1-7, the drawings were all made on Kangaroo island – but not on the ferry! 🙂
cheers
Sally
