Day 35 and Glasgow

by Sketchy on the Detail

Today I finally visited Glasgow, being only a short train ride from Edinburgh. They have certainly been rejuvenating the city, and it has an excellent collection of art galleries and museum.

I only had time for two today, the Hunterian Art Gallery and the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. The former is home to the Mackintosh House, a beautiful reassembled collection of rooms that were at one time in Charles and Margaret’s residence. The latter is a gallery and museum set in a beautiful building catering for the inquisitive, young and old. I only had time to see a fraction of their respective collections, so will have to make another trip at some stage.

Following is a little sketch of some of the galleries in the Hunterian
